Sunday, May 16th 2010 marked the end of the lower parks at Timberline. With the yearly death of Paintbrush and Conway’s comes the birth of Otto Lang. While no where near as fun (in my opinion) as the lower parks, Otto Lang still has a TON of super fun options, first and foremost being the spring superpipe. Timberline’s lack of steepness on the lower mountain makes it impossible to build and maintain a superpipe in the winter so the spring pipe is always a welcome feature.
So for now, say goodbye to Paintbrush and Conway’s and hello to Otto Lang…Stay tuned for a full report as soon as the weather clears.

This last week went off in the parks. The skiers from New Schoolers came into town in full force to shred. The parks got a bit of a facelift and they even built up a HUGE jump for them to session. Here are the photos from the homie Drew at DSImagery.com.

Paintbrush is coming together nicely. The jumps still have a way to go before they are up to the caliber of last season but they are still fun. The jibs, though few, are set damn near perfect. I keep hearing that the plan is to wait until the contests are finished and then they are going to stack everything up. Taller jumps, taller landings, more rails and jibs, etc. Hopefully this plan goes through.

Darcy Bacha and Matt Guess got together again to bring you these amazing shots on the QP in Conway’s. Great job guys.
Does anyone else have any shots on the QP? If you do send them in…

Today was a pretty mellow day in the parks. A little crowded from the holiday vacation but nothing to out of hand. The jumps, however, took a beating today allowing for a really fun just play around type of day. They added a new tire bonk feature at the very end of the park that is super fun to spin bonk over. Leave it up to me to forget to take a photo of it. I’ll make sure to get you one tomorrow.
Take a look at some of the choice photos from the day by Karim.

The first of Timberline’s monthly Friday Night Features events went off last night and the theme was The Olymptricks. The had a couple of super dope box set ups, a poll jam, and an awesome bank wall type feature that you could drift across while spinning it up. While I’m not a huge rail guy, I got the feeling people were loving the set up. Kids were throwing down as well as getting thrown down. Along with some hammers, I saw someĀ horrendous crashes. Here as some photos from the homie Karim Hadid and stay tuned for the video…

What can I say about Justin Wiegand? I’ve know him for about, oh I’d say, 8 years. Throughout that time I’ve watched him go from steezy rider to SUPER STEEZY photographer. Whether it’s rolling with uber famous skiers like Sammy Carlson or Eric Pollard or just snappin’ some shots with the homies in the good ole Mt Hood backcountry, Justin loves to be out on the hill. Oh and you should see the photos of his 8 year old daughter Taylor. Simply amazing. Wiegand (as a lot of people call him) also runs H-Mob Productions layin’ down tracks with Chris Stoltz. He also does a lot with Nimbus Independent, Eric Pollard’s film company. Damn Wiegand you sound like a busy dude.
Check out some more of his photos taken at Timberline. Dude’s got skills.
