News: Extension Of Passes, Odds Are Against Us
When we started this push to get Timberline to extend their passes I forgot to make one stipulation. If they do not extend them people shouldn’t get all pissed off and act like Timberline owes them something. Because they don’t! Just because they did it one year doesn’t obligate them to do it every year. I’m sure there are several business decisions that go into whether or not the passes get extended and to assume that they decide not to do it just because they don’t want to is pretty short sighted if you ask me. Timberline Lodge is a business. And like all businesses they are in it to make money. And there is nothing wrong with that.
If Timberline decides not to extend the passes, I’m asking everyone to refrain from any disrespect on their Facebook page. Instead, offer up some encouragement and motivation to out due themselves next season. Anything else would be counterproductive…

I second that Adrian… couldn’t have said it better myself. It sucks for all of us that the weather has been so bad in the last month and has limited the riding. But we can’t blame anyone for that.
Thanks Landon. I just hope people keep their cool if they decide not to do it.
I agree, after all, how much snow to start the season and make the season a good one and how much sun we get for a killer spring season of riding on our parts and money making on Timberline’s part has nothing to do with Timberline. It has and will always be up to the unpredictable NW weather patterns that differ every year. Negative comments do nothing but re-enforce the opinion that the general public is ungrateful for just how much time, energy, and financial planning goes into providing a fun place for us to go shred. If they don’t extend the season, they don’t extend it. From a business prospective the majority of their customers have already moved on to other “spring time” activities. But I hope they do extend it!

“Insert obligatory supportive comment here”
hell yeah, way to understand. makes me so stoked to hear this!
the reason the passes were extended last year is cause the season started so late, the people that bought passes in sept/oct/nov really weren’t able to get their $$’s worth. it was tline’s little way of making it up to them.
