Video: The Double McTwist 1260

Progression is a double edged sword. Some people swear no snowboard trick should go past 900. But what do you progress on when you kill every trick in the world?

I say if you can do it with style then skies the limit.

What do you think?

  1. Progression is cool… that was just whack…
    this isn’t ice skating. haha
I think that it just doesn’t look good at all. Yeah its hard to keep style doing a trick that complicated. Which gives you more of a reason to not do it.

If you can do it, go for it! The trick looks amazingly fun and dangerous… crazy part is he lands it smooth!!! Like only a videogame would be able to pull it off which makes it even more impressive.

Shaun has set himself apart from everyone now… he looks awkward b/c nobody else is doing what he’s doing yet. With practice, that trick will have more style than giorgio armani. Give it some years and his trick will be a regular in mens pipe. Without progression, every sport would suck. Progression keeps things exciting and fresh. Please believe there’s only so much style you can pull out of 900 tricks before they start to get boring. You betta believe the younger generation is bringin’ it in the years to come!!!

    I’m out.

  3. looks like a super huck!!!

the baggiest pants he has are snowboard pants, but he does kill it

  8. I counted a double cork 9. somethings fishy.

  9. Generally I enjoy a big cold glass of hater-ade while watching any of shaun white’s endeavors. Perhaps its the big ginger shag he’s rocking, or the bitter knowledge that the guy has been throwing sevens for the sake of Target and Visa since before he could drive, who knows really. In this case however, snowboardings “golden child” is on the forefront of halfpipe progression. Love it or hate it, you’re watching the next big trick being developed and the fact that it looks pretty fluid for the “first time” makes me wonder in awe as to what to expect next from a younger generation of groms who are watching this very same video thinking “I could do that better” To put this single trick in context as to what kind of trickery to expect as the new bar check out the grand prix pipe finals where White was the only rider to put in a hat trick of double corks plus boosting higher than the next finisher. I still have my grudges with him as speculation states that the guy has let the fame stoke his ego to olympian proportions, but as a snowboarder I have to respect the talent and commitment to furthering our concept of what is possible. Take it easy

  10. Great analysis KP. Spot on…

  11. Here, here…well put there KP, They should make another “That’s It, That’s All” with Shaun doing street rails only, and Travis just in the pipe, then they’re arranged to fist fight at the end.

  12. great trick.. but.,.. hes always grabing “tindy” or Tailfish” but hes got some big red balls for sure. fuck being a sellout. if you got payed to huck you would.
